2019 Field of Honor Ceremony

AUSA Suncoast Chater Represents Fields of Honor Ceremony

Each quarter a solemn observance is held at the area’s finest Veterans’ park, Veterans’ Memorial Park, Hillsborough county, Tampa, FL. Fallen military service members, first responders, state troopers, police, fire fighters, even those who were MIA, but no longer are…are remembered. This past Saturday, October 12, was a picture perfect day for the “Field of Honor” ceremony. Twenty two  fallen service members were remembered as well as one Gold Star Family, who was recognized. The Blue Star Mothers of America, Greater Tampa Bay, presented a Gold Star Service banner to the family. Many outside organizations and local government attend and fully support this event.

This year the JROTC Cadets from Lennard High School, Riverview, FL were the honor guard for this respectful ceremony. Lennard High School is located in one of the 13 counties that AUSA Suncoast covers. Contact was made with both SAI MAJ Fannell ( r ) and MSG Bailes ( r ).

AUSA Suncoast Chapter leadership will attend next year’s end of year ceremony to present the medal and pin set and certificate. Each school year AUSA Suncoast’s outreach within the JROTC programs grows, and we are grateful for that, as we know that these cadets are our nation’s future… the best of the best. Thank you MAJ Fannel and MSG Bailes for your leadership in the lives of your cadets and your commitment to serving and equipping them to be the best that they can be.
