AUSA Suncoast “Jenkins Military Leadership & Entrepreneurship Academy”

Title: “SCRUM Fundamentals-Understanding SCRUM Project Management. Version 2023”

This is a four hour in-person training. Class size is limited to 25 persons. Participants should bring laptops, notepads and writing materials.

A certification in Scrum can be done by anyone interested in working within the Scrum Framework and drive Agile practices in the enterprise. Ideally, the target audience comprises of people currently working in the following roles:

• Project Managers
• Product Managers
• Software Developers and Engineers
• Support Stakeholders
• Team leaders

About the course: The instructor, Mr. McCatty, has decades of experience in manufacturing organizations throughout the US and Latin America. As an advisor, he has helped numerous organizations, through speaker presentations, group training, and individual coaching, to meet the challenge of creating engaging and purposeful work environments. By transferring critical skills to leaders and their team members, he has helped organizations achieve world-class performance goals. He teaches SCRUM as a project management tool and agile methodology that helps organizations manage projects faster and more effectively through self-organized team structures.  Scrum prioritizes a commitment to deliver a functional set of features at the end of each project sprint. Scrum’s primary goal is to utilize teamwork to quickly deliver a quality product while managing the risks and changes that come with project management. The training is being offered by the Suncoast Chapter of AUSA as part of the “Jenkins Military Leadership & Entrepreneurship Academy”.

What to expect: SCRUM is sometimes referred to as agile project management because it provides an adaptive, flexible framework designed to deliver working products in incremental steps throughout the project. The SCRUM Fundamentals course is tailored to help anyone interested to know more about Scrum; learn about key concepts in Scrum as defined in the SBOK^™ Guide; and to gain a basic understanding of team leadership practices to ensure effective Scrum framework in successful projects.

Upon completion of this half-day course participants have the option of participating in an online e-learning SCRUM course and taking the ‘Scrum Fundamentals Certified’ exam. This will confirm that they have a basic understanding of the Scrum framework. On passing the exam, participants will be accredited as “Scrum Fundamentals Certified”, and receive a certificate of completion and 10 PMI approved PDUs.
